Since the war has started in Gaza on October 7, 2023 over 65,000 people have been killed, half being women and children and now famine was confirmed on August 22, 2025 by the Integreated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC). Famine is the most severe and catastrophic form of a hunger crisis in the world. Without any aid due to Israeli blockades many countries have attempted to get aid to the people in Gaza, but one in particular has captured the attention of the world.
Greta Thunberg is a 22 year old activist. Originally fighting against climate change she now sets her sights on Gaza with the Golbal Sumud Flotilla. After being captured illegally in international waters by Israel in June she has now set sail with hundreds of activists, humanitarians, and public figures from over 44 countries all around the world. These ships carry a variety of supplies including food, medicine and most importantly baby formula for the starving and dying newborn babies. With a combination of 50 ships ranging in size, capacity and nationalities from Spain, Tunisia, Italy and Greece they have just left their final port in Tunisia to make the trip across the sea to once again go against Israel in the hopes to finally break the blockade and bring aid to people who are in dire need. Since they started their journey in Barcelona on August 30th they have already had bombs thrown at their boats by Israel by method of drones in Tunisia with the intention to sink and disband the boats. However, they have held strong and hae not turned around. Every single one of the lives on board are risking it all to show the world that what is happening is not right and while all eyes watch them it is up to Israel now on how to respond and I can only hope that is they decide to harm them that world will respond and defend these souls!

Now lets get to a little bit about my crazy life! I decided that I wanted to be busy so I have 8 classes, yes 8 which is 20 hours. It has been hectic but I love to be busy and this helps a lot. ALso because it is off season I have signed up to be a lab assitant for one of my favoruite teachers and my project is something that I have always wanted to work with, ocean dead zones. The no oxygen zones in the ocean that have been growing in size and killing countless sea cratures. I am so fortunate to get the chance to research them and now invest my own knowledge and ideas into how Climate Change is affecting them!

My first match is also on Thursday and I am so excited and so nervous at the same time it is crazy but I cannot wait to compete again! We are going to be driving to Atlanta for this match and though the drive is long the wait cannot be any longer.
But despite it all I've been doing my best to focus on me and my health. Injury after injury I decided that what I was doing wrong is not caring enough about me, my physical, mental and emotional health. So this will again be my biggest goal this semester and one that I need to be serious about once again. I am always a huge advocate for mental and emotional health after my journey through grief but now that it has affected my physical health that needs to become my biggest focus. From gym sessions to stretching and working my stabalizing muscles, to eating enough and drinking so much I need to find my balance again. Little by little I will find it and as I do I hope that blogging can become grounding for me once again!
Thank you all for sticking with me here once again and see you next time!
